Omaha Masters Swimming
USMS Club # 002-OMAH

Professionally Coached by Todd Samland,
1994 United States Masters Coach of the Year

What happens if the weather is looking a little dicey? Well if you are not sure, call (402) 554-2346. That is the office phone number for Todd at UNOmaha. The voice mail will be updated 30 minutes prior to the start of practice. If you hear the normal "If you like to swim..." message, we must be having practice! It is not often that we cancel practice but it happens every once in a long while. Normal swim schedule. M-F, 6:00-7:00 AM. Sat 7:00-8:00 AM.

Memorial Day Update

No Practice:  Practices will not be held on Saturday, May 23 nor Monday, May 25 in honor of the Memorial Day holiday.

Summer Theme: This summer will be a change to our themes from the beginning of the year:  Mondays will be made up of two or three sets and repeated many times (also referred to as ‘cycle’ day),  Tuesdays will be freestyle days,  Wednesday will be sets of three (also referred as the ‘power of three’ day),  Thursday will be scrabble day (which means anything can happen),  Friday will be sprint day,  and Saturdays will be distance day (and usually ‘pull buoy’ lovers day).

Cautious Words of Advice: Over the past year, the CSM parking lot has been targeted by burglars a couple of times.  I would recommend that you do not leave anything valuable in your car (or trunk).  Bring important things and valuable work information into the pool locker room with you.  We have alleviated much distress by leaving the car doors unlocked (some swimmers have gone to the point of rolling down the windows).  The thought is if you leave your doors unlocked then they will not break the window to get inside the car, and it seems to help.  Also if the doors are unlocked then you are more likely not to leave something valuable inside your car.  It must be emphasized that this is just an observation and opinion, so each person must decide what works best for them.
